Martina Simonato is a photographer with an architectural background who lives between Ferrara and Milan.
Thanks to her training in architecture, she has developed a strong interest in the territory, viewed as a changing entity capable of transforming itself according to the cultures that inhabited it.
She carries out personal projects that investigate the hidden nature of places, explore the relationship between anthropic and natural spaces, and study how man has reappropriated even the most marginal and transformative places over time.
Martina lived in Japan in 2019, and there developed the project “Small Japan” which describes the fragmentation and stratification landscape in the East.
In 2021, she was selected for Fotografia Europea | Photograph-ER (in Reggio Emilia, Italy) and in 2023 for The Photo Solstice #5 (in Cagliari, Italy).
